About Me
My name is Eddy Cedeño, also known as ApheeCan. I'm someone who loves nature (as you might guess from my theme). My career started thanks to my university professors, to whom I’m very grateful. However, instead of working as a Developer, I began my journey as a Data Engineer. This was a different experience from what I was expecting, but it allowed me to see things from a new perspective. Besides Coding, I'm someone who enjoys learning new things—I even have an alarm clock that reminds me to write down new information every day.

Web app that scans skincare, makeup, and haircare ingredients for pore-cloggers and irritants. Built for a skincare expert with 130K Instagram followers, it helps users make informed beauty choices. Backend built with AWS Lambda and Python.

Frontend Engineer
I am developing a full-featured dashboard application using React, TypeScript and Material-UI. The project focuses on building a scalable notification and channel management system with internationalization support. Implemented responsive forms and data management using React Hook Form and Zod validation, built reusable components with TypeScript modules, and integrated i18n support across multiple languages including English, Chinese, Vietnamese and French.
Data Engineer
I joined this role to collaborate with international data engineers. I manage data flow and architecture using Microsoft Fabric as my main tool. Additionally, I cleanse and prepare data using Python scripts to ensure data quality and integrity. Performed data migration with Microsoft Fabric and SQL, implemented saving delta tables with PySpark, and guided entry-level BI consultants in the adoption of best practices.
Backend Engineer
I sought out clients and translated their problems into clear requirements then created and maintained APIs using AWS Lambda and API Gateway. This role marked my first experience working as a freelancer. Developed AWS Python APIs and solved real-life problems, including the creation of an anti acne make-up recommendation system for over 90k users.
Business Intelligence Consultant
This was my first formal job in tech. I gained valuable experience working with a variety of clients across different industries and collaborating with diverse teams. Built ETLs with SSIS, transferring over 28M records from old data bases, improved factual and dimensional tables structures to record changes over time, and created visualizations with Tableau and Google Data Studio.
IT Government Assistant
During my university internship, I learned how servers operate in production environments. I also created user manuals that were easy to understand and follow. Documented institutional process records, administered Windows servers, and created detailed user manuals for non technical people.
Data Engineer Assistant
I worked at the Panama Research And Integrated Sustainability Model to study the healthcare situation in remote areas of Panama. I used the results of this research for my university thesis. Extracting and analyzing 20 years worth of data from official Panamanian Health Reports.
